Ron

Didn't you run for President or somethin'

Manufacturer date for receiver Jan-Mar. 1879. Since the end out that qtr. production is 104919 we can nail down the date VERY close for the receiver. HOWEVER, the production sequences at SA were not all that close to serial number dates. The stock on hand was used in a somewhat haphazard fashion. There was no automation of production and stock tended to be added to bins over existing stock. We have seen serial numbers out of sequence by as much as a qtr. Add to that the refurbs at SA & other armorys & serial numbers seem to blur at times. If we make the assumption that you have an "unmolested" rifle these dates are "close".
