I`ve found a William H. Bidwell born 1870 died 1892 in Manchester, Conn.,...... age is about right.

An unmarked grave in Galena , Indiana...... no dates known

A Kansas volunteer.......indian protection unit 1868 thru 1869

The Co 137th Pa volunteer guy would have been in his late 40s or so when the gun was new.

Then there`s the publisher of Eclectic Magazine in NewYork who seems to really be into history both civilian and millitary. He had investments in the Missouri territories. 1850s on thru 1890s.

There`s a Walter Bidwell in Ohio...........1870

My poor eyes are bugg`n out of my head. Gotta rest.
