Re: Cabela's - was "type of rod?"

I'll go against the grain a little on this subject of Cabela's.

We should be thankful that a national chain carries firearms. Doubly thankful that they carry used, collectible, and antique firearms.

A Sports Authority by me used to carry rifles/shotguns and handguns. A few years ago they dropped the handguns, and now no more rifles/shotguns either. My Walmart used to carry rifles/shotguns, but now, no more. Less than twenty years ago (about 1991-92) I was at the mall in West Palm Beach, Florida, and was surprised to see in the display window of Woolworth's surplus Mosin-Nagant military rifles. And 7.62x54R ammo too!

I've never been to a Cabela's but I have visited their web site. I did not see any bargain prices but the pictures were excellent. Descriptions are minimal but an interested party can ask for more information, photos, etc. One can either accept their price, make an offer, or walk away. With all the books available and much information for free on the internet, there is no excuse for a buyer to be unprepared for a purchase.
