Re: 6-groove Rem barrel - was Lite Barrel

Interesting - I bought a 6-groove barrel from Al about a year ago. It is Remington marked, but Al said it had SA-style rifling and the long throat for PP bullets. He figured that Remington had at one time OWNED the barrel. It came with receiver 116189, which is right in the midst of the early LRs. I also have the remains of an SWP/1880 LR stock, with Hotchkiss plate. They, along with a really nice replica Bull sight made by a good friend are going to get married soon. For display purposes only, and it will be well-marked.

I also have a service stock with the small [SWP] cartouche of the type (shown in book 1) said to have been used on an early LR. I MAY consider selling that, as I do not currently plan to make up another LR restoration.
