Go to the home page of this web site and click on PRODUCTION DATA. I list both the NEW gun production per year and the actual OBSERVED (appox.) last serial numbered gun ia given each year. Using Springfield's payroll records, for man hours assembling ROA(Repair Old Arms for Militia) rifles and carbines, it looks like there could be a total 0f around 30,000 guns with starred receivers that do not show up on the production listings. These arms were assembled in 1881 and 1882.
