I respectfully offer another opinion - that is into the period where the starred receivers cause trouble with the Waite/Ernst list. Numbers on production guns may be higher than expected. I would not be too quick to condemn 213xxx for 1882.

As an example, the 1021 Cadet rifless made in 3Q82 are KNOWN to have numbers in the low 200xxx range. In fact, such limited production arms can sometimes be very helpful in putting the number/date trail in perspective. And, as a quick confirmation, SRS4 shows 219xxx numbers undergoing headspace testing in January of 1883.
