Thomas

Drive the pin out from left to right. That is with the rifle laid on it's side with the hammer & lock plate down.

The Lyman sights that I alter for the TD have a 1/16th in. hole. I have just acquired at set of Machinists drill bits & am looking to determine the drill number that more closely is correct.

Since the 1/16th bit is slightly larger than the original, I drill the hole in the blade a tad high. When the pin is reinserted the blade is nudged down to a tight fit. This works for me & the product I sell.

If you want to forgo the crafting of a blade, the Lyman Globe sight I sell sets the front blade at the proper height for 100 yds.

Really cheap sight pins can be made with "finishing" nails.

Aftermarket pins are available. Ed Knisely may have them.

Ernie
