Wow, I think it's amazing that one can use a cartridge case 1/2" longer than the standard length 50-70 case in the old 50-70 trapdoors. I wonder why the chamber was made this way? Does anyone know if this holds true with any of the other 50-70 chambered rifles from Springfield?
