Re: FAKE carbine on Gunbroker

Posted by Dick Hosmer on Tuesday, 23 November 2010, at 10:51 a.m., in response to Re: FAKE carbine on Gunbroker, posted by markus on Tuesday, 23 November 2010, at 7:55 a.m.

Markus, thanks for answering, again.

There appears to be some problem with the text string: "Model 1870". Is it not possible to review the "reject parameters" for the "subject" field? What could possibly be offensive/unacceptable in that string?

If that IS a secret "dirty word", then is it at least possible to allow one's back button to return one to the composition page? If one does a bad thing in the "message" box, USUALLY (but not always) one can recover - but with a "subject" issue, death is instantaneous and permanent.

As you know, I'm a frequent contributor, and often compose rather lengthy messages, requiring looking up data, etc. It is extremely frustrating to see a detailed response go in the toilet. On some occasions, I've even said to hell with it, and not responded. I'm a slow typist, and, at 73, have CRS, so yes, I AM guilty of forgetting that the string in question is a land mine.

Hopefully, something can be tweaked. You, and I think Al, have been unable to reproduce the condition. Could it be some peculiarity of MY computer? I woudn't think so, but I'm no computer wizard.

I guess the answer might be to just copy every message prior to hitting post, but CRS sometimes intervenes.

Thank you again.
