Model 1884

Posted by Kent Ferguson on Thursday, 18 November 2010, at 12:34 p.m.

I recently purchased a group of rifles in a garage sale. Four were black powder, of which one was a US Springfield Model 1884, S/N 405422. It seems complete and in very good condition for the age, however the barrel is less than 20 inches with no evedence of a front sight. Any information on this cabine would be greatly appreciated.
