PETE,

You can say it, I'm a moron! When I first bought the carbine and found this web site I studied all the Al's photos and ads. It answered a lot of questions about what is correct based on the year of manufacture, etc. When I ran across the ad on ebay I did NO homework and took simply believed how it was advertised.

Fortunately for me, the seller has a 3 day return policy. I sent him a request for his return address. Hopefully it will be a smooth transaction.

If not, I hear scrap price is going back up!

As I side note, I remember seeing repo carbine bars listed on the trapdoor galore web site. So jumped over there a bit ago to get an idea of the difference between original and repos. Looking at the 3 bars he lists; original saddle bar, repo saddle bar, and original thin bar. If you look closely at the 3 pictures they are all the same picture. Notice the white lint in exactly the same position on all 3 pictures. So that was no help...
