Good morning John. Yes, I think you pretty much summed it up. Looking through Bob Hoyt's brochure he specifically says - - even right on the cover --
"CUSTOM BLACK POWDER RIFLE BARRELS AND BARREL RELINING SERVICE".
He also proudly quotes the SECOND AMENDMENT to the CONSTITUTION right on the cover. He lists the following calibers in which he can make BLACK POWDER BREECH-LOADING BARRELS:
25-20, 32-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60 Winchester, 40-65 Winchester, 40-90 Sharps BN, 44-40, 45-70, 45-90, 45-120, 50-70, 50-90, and 50-240. His prices start at $300. He uses 41L40 round stock drilled and turned down to fit in the original barrel, and it is then straightened, reamed, and rifled, re-chambered, and fitted.
Best regards John
