this is quite possible but it is not verified. What I posted if you want to spend the money to have a researcher do this. I have already done this and if you read Al's book you will find the two shipments of which I personally have verified by having copies of the letters from Benton to Flagler, and Flagler back to Benton telling him how he will distribute them. What most p[people don't understand is the Army chain of Command, in this case RIA was the main supplier for the department of Platte. The 2d 3d and 7th Cavalry was the units assigned to this area and RIA was there supplier. Supplies for other western units came from another depot or arsenal, such as Benicia or San Antonio.
