IIRC, before I started getting paranoid about it, Al said that he had seen them around his neck of the woods with some frequency, and felt that my finding one should be no big deal. Well - - - - - it's been quite awhile since he said that, and still no rifle! :-(
Also, Al and I do not agree as to what constitutes a trials rifle, either. He feels they should have thick 1868 blocks. For the life of me, I cannot see why, since the carbines certainly didn't - but - he has ventured into the very bowels of SA, and I have not, so I have to honor his words. I could see a clamping lower band, and spoon, though.
