IF it comes right out, fine, but if it doesn't, be VERY careful NOT to twist the barrel as you lift it! That is what causes the missing wood next to the tang that we have all seen. Some barreled actions will drop out of their own weight, if inverted, some won't - it is those that require extra caution.

You also want to have the hammer cocked, so as to be out of the way, and not "holding back" one side of the assembly, possibly causing a slight twist as more force is applied.

To be honest, I thought the initial response was a little "casual" to one who was an obvious novice. It's pretty obvious WHAT needs to be undone - the point to be stressed is HOW it is handled.
