I'm inclined to think the lady's request was probably legitimate, but simply ignorant - as was the buyer's bid.

It has been pointed out, and accurately so I'm afraid, that our nation is becoming less and less gun-savvy. If she knew the gun was bad, what could she possibly have gained by coming to us?

My favorite - too oft encountered - is the excited puppy (who, it is later revealed, barely knows from which end the bullet exits) who trumpets - "I just bought a XXXXXX for $$$$$$ - HOW DID I DO?" Dumbest question in the world.

Wonder if we will soon hear of the "fancy-stocked carbine made for an officer" that was acquired from a little lady, for only $1600?
