Hello MIke, sounds like you have a nice rifle. Have the piece inspected by someone that knows what they are doing. Have the bore slugged that will tell you what you need to know. Cost is minimal and worth it. J.P Lower is the (in my opinion) the purchaser originaly. He purchased many sharps and was a dealer in same, also he was an exibition shooter from Denver at the time. There may be a cartouche on the stock in a dime size circle, I think left side JPL. Hope this gets you going in the right direction. sincerely, Larry Sunday
