Re: Verified Custer carbine?

Herb did not share any specifics on that carbine, other than the pronouncement that it looked authentic. Those few words speak volumes; he and I "speak the same language", so, if everything appears correct (alles in Ordnung) we don't dwell much on the individual features.

After watching GM, close up, at shows in CA for 25+ years, and seeing some pretty questionable stuff for sale nationally, at BIG prices, now that he has blossomed into the big time, I do not have the greatest opinion of GMA. But, that's personal, and I'm sure he handles plenty of perfectly OK guns, too. A benefit of the doubt which I do NOT extend to a certain party in Nevada.

That is surely a GREAT serial number range for playing the grand game of "What If". Perhaps you can get a case tested. No specific data is available for that number - maybe it was there, maybe it wasn't. One thing for sure, the better the condition the less likely that it made it to the West, let alone LBH. Some people "ooh" and "ahhh" over a near-pristine "First Model". I don't - but it's fun to dream!
