Yes, the 3/77 and 4/77 Berdan rounds were HS'd in the current format. The primer is noticeably larger - if you were casually checking a number of cartridges, that would stand out, even without squinting for the date.

I have an empty April box, and one loose 4/77 cartridge - both are scarce. The 3/77 items are REALLY rare, and no March boxes (even empty ones) are known.

The government contracted for ammo almost continuously and I do not know when they stopped buying Berdan, but purchases certainly would not have extended past their selection of the Boxer system in 1882, as the two are not at all compatible.
