Boy Fred, I've learned more reading your two emails than I have trying to get any information on the net! Thank you very much.

I'm sure my gun is an early model. (Serial # 216193) We're shooting the Winchester & Remington .45-70, 300 gr, SJHP Express Rifle ammunition at $34.00 a box! I've downloaded the Winchester Ballistics Calculator which indicates holding the gun a couple of inches high at 350 yds. I know the wind must be a factor in hitting our target. Do the numbers on the R.H. side of the Buckhorn sight on our rifle 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 indicate inches?

My next question will be on reloading equipment.

Thank you again Fred,

Regards,

Bob
