Neal, As I advised in response to your pictures, I believe you have a shortened Model 1868 Rifle, not an 1869 Cadet. Value would be primarily as a shooter, since it matches no known model, and, as such, I'd figure that something in the $400 to $500 range would be fair. What (or who?) is "The Don"? Bayonet seems short, in fact IT might even be a Cadet one, even though the rifle is not - is it marked "U.S."? The bayonet (if US-marked) and scabbard would add perhaps another $150.
