Well, I don't think that I'm going to buyt it. I was looking at it and wondering if runing the serial number through SRS would result in a hit after I spoke to the guy who owns the carbine that he bought on GUnbroker for $1,000.00 and then found out that the thing had been issued to the Cheyenne Army Scout who's name interpreted out as Squint Eyes. It got me to wondering if any other carbines that appear for sale now and again have such histories. The man Squint Eyes's by the way was captured in 1875 and imprisoned until 1879, where upon he employed by the Smithsonian Institution for a number of years there posing for photographs while depictingand recording sign language and later drew money from them afterwords by sending the Smithsonian Institution native american aritifacts such as drums, baskets, robes, tools etc. for their collections. Squint Eyes worked for the Army for several years and later rode all the way to the Canadian border with another Cheyenne and back again looking for The Lost Cheyenne Tribe that migrated there while under pursiut by the Army during the great Cheyenne reservation break out. That group of Cheyenne vanished. Apparantly Squint Eyes believed that the group had succesfully eluded the Army and had found a place to live in peace in Canada that ws unknown to the Whites. Did he not find them and return as he said? Did he find them over the Canadian border and then return saying that he never found them, keeping their location a secret? Hmmm. Anyway, read up o0n this man and you'll be amazed at the history that he was involved in. Neat carbine that Rick, the owner has. I'd like to buy it but I haven't that kind of money that he wants for the Reserve.
