refurbished Trapdoors SAW

Posted by Larry Sunday on Tuesday, 8 June 2010, at 10:50 p.m.

Hello Guys, here are my questions. Were the rifles that were rebuilt for the Spanish American War totally reblued? My carbine seems to be totally correct with a nice blue finish, with the exception of no cartouch or circle (P) and the woood is a little undersized at the butt. Also the tang and breech block are blued. Springield blue not Joe blow blue. Under the blue on the breech block evidence of color case is strong. After the rebuilds for the SAW were the stocks remarked with cartouches and such? Carbine #148916, kind of close to squinty eye carbine... Larry
