Mike - One easy way to identify difference in the rifle and carbine front sight is to check the cross pin diameter and this difference can be seen without measuring. The cross pin holds the sight blade to the stud. The diameter of the rifle pin is 0.060 inches. The carbine front sight pin is 0.082 inches in diameter.
