Picky, picky, picky! :-) :-)

I know what THEY called it - a "Springfield carbine, caliber .45" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

In today's sometimes convoluted collectorspeak, I would lean towards "Model 1877 (by definition, since it has the trap, it is NOT an 1873) with Modifications (Buffington sight precludes any thought of 1879 - which term ONLY related to the rear sight) of 1890". Your mileage may vary. :-)
