Re: To Larry Sunday; Swiss Powder

Hi Larry, How have you been. I talked with you some couple of months ago about KIK blackpowder. I am on the verge of running out of powder, and will be ordering Swiss from Graf before too long. I have never used Swiss, but it must be the cat's meow, according to all I have heard. It sounds as if you will be ordering the powder here pretty soon, right? Would you let me know how it shoots, and how clean it burns? As stated before, the KIK left a whitish gray fouling in my bore and cases that was very easy to clean. I bought a can of Graf&Sons black a few months ago, and now that everything else is used up, I broke into that and loaded up cartridges for the '84 and .45 Colt. This stuff is nasty!! Worse than Goex for fouling in my opinion. Once that is gone, thats it, no more. I will try the Swiss next, and hope it works like the KIK did. I also found a source for Japan wax, the original bullet lube used by Frankford Arsenal beginning about 1880. That will be my next lube. That should make my .45/70/500 Gov't cartridges about 99.9% historically accurate. Regards, Ken Smith Silver City, NM
