Re: Model 1873 questions- XX ser no

Just to be fair to others that post questions with XX's. Some of them, like myself when I first posted on this forum, were told at one time or another not to list the entire serial number. In my case it was on another board about 4 years ago and I wasn't given a reason just told it wasn't wise. No one countered his warning so I assumed that it might be true. Had I known that some years down the road that I was going to offend someone by listing a serial number with XX's in it I would suredly got to the bottom of it and found out why I shouldn't do that. Again in my case when I posted on this board with XX's, whoever answered my question let me know in a gentlemanly manner that it wasn't necessary to do that. Who ever that was I want to thank them because if they had treated me the way some other offenders have been treated I would have considered them a pompus jerk and probably never would have returned to this forum. And that would have been to my detriment.

Now I do respect everyones choice of whether or not to share their knowledge but wouldn't it be a lot more civil to just say nothing than to make someone feel lower than whale droppings at the bottom of the ocean.

For some reason I feel like it would be best that I didn't have anymore TD Questions. Mike
