What is the fiinish on the block and tang? If the rest of the rifle is blued "like new", and is original, then those parts should have brilliant case-hardening colors. If the arm is blued all over, then it has been refinished (which seems to be born out by the stock's lack of markings) at some point. They did not attempt to re-harden those parts which were not blued originally.
