Larry, That certainly WAS Barney Joe Davies! He's still alive as far as I know. I spoke to him several months ago. I used to see him every weekend when I'd stop by his old house and visit with him and Elmer Loomin, Bob Webb, and all the other old timers that'd hang out there while they chewed the fat and handled the old guns. When Barney had his old house up on Truman Road, He used to have a gun cabinet upstairs that was full of 45-70 trapdoor rifles and carbines. He had a closet in one room upstairs that contained about a dozen old Krags rifles and about a dozen old 1903 Springfields too. THen there was the box absolutely full of Krag, trapdoor and 1903 Springfield bayonets and scabbards along with some 1905 hospital corps Bolo Knives, and all sorts of stuff. Those were the good old days! Is Barney still alive?
