Re: Pete's Colt SAA

Years ago, a buddy of mine in Kansas City owned an 1888 trapdoor with a big "20th" stamped into the butt stock. I can't remember what else was on it, but Barney, the owner who sold antique firearms for a living, told me many times that the rifle had belonged to the 20th Kansas. Barney also had a large frame with the old individual photographs of every member of the 20th Kansas at the time the picture was taken which was around the time of the Spanish American War. The rifle was sold for 400.00 and I don't know if he still has the framed picture or if it went with the rifle, which had the original knurled rod tip in the buttstock along with an 1879 combo tool. Of course the rifle had an original trapdoor sling on it too.
