Dan, the inspectors stamp on the left side of the stock opposite the lock plate will sometimes be hard to notice if the stock has been sanded. However, if the stamp is clear and deep and the circled "P" undr tyhe wrist just behind the trigger guard plate is also deep and clear, then the stock probablyhasn't been sanded or over cleaned. The front band on full length rifles should have two swivels on it. One will have an opening and was used for hooking through identical swivels on other rifles while stacking them together in groups of at least three. If there is only one swivel without the opening and the barrel is truly only 29 1/2" long, then the rifle MIGHT be a cadet rifle. Has it a cleaning rod? How long is it? THanks again, Fred
