Re: Custer Era Crap Shoot

Posted by Dick Hosmer on Saturday, 15 May 2010, at 1:20 a.m., in response to Re: Custer Era Crap Shoot, posted by Dick Hosmer on Wednesday, 5 May 2010, at 10:08 a.m.

Update:

The dealer in question has laughed off passing a wide receivered "put-together" as a Custer-era gun. "Two months is too long to wait to complain; and in any event, I never take a gun back".

I know we have some dealers, and/or sellers, here. I put the question to you - thumbs up, or thumbs down, on such behavior?

BTW, the statement about never taking a gun back does not square with what I was told by one very well respected 1873 carbine specialist - the same dealer once took back SEVERAL bogus guns, all at once. The same man does recall seeing the carbine at Denver in 2008, but did not not have a chance to examine it in any detail.
