Trapdoor 69 info
Posted by FrontierWest on Thursday, 29 April 2010, at 2:51 p.m.
That is in my possession. Serial # 35,296 came from the North Dakota Reservation and was traded to an attorney for some services rendered some 40 years ago and has made it's way into Montana and now in my possession. There does seem to have militia or national guard markings on the butt plate that have a 23 and below that a "K" and below the "K" is nice script 2. On the shoulder curve portion of the BP is stamped rather poorly F 6 the 6 being double strike, and above that perhaps the first attempt that did not take well.
The trigger bow assy has a "A" up top and a circle "P" car touche below it on the stock. Lock plate is an 1863 date and right side of barrel serial number (Opposite) is an old number of 2906 directly below the rear sight. The breech block has the 1869, eagle w/ cross arrows U.S.
Any more info other than what I know would also be great!
