Re: 1873 Carbine

I have logged four "417xx" numbers.

One has a spectacular (IF true) attribution, one is a fake (cut-down rifle; so that must be one of the several ranges where some overlap occurs), and two (one of which is in SRS) are presumably proper - if vanilla - carbines.

Haven't counted recently, but I'd guess that about 65-70% of my 40+ year accumulation of "thin-wrist" 1873 carbine numbers is from sources OTHER than SRS.

FWIW, vis-a-vis 1873 carbines, have just found a certain well-known dealer's hand DEEP in the cookie jar. Developing story in progress - film at eleven.
