Buy as we say here in "the 'Burgh", Y'INZ 'VE DONE IT ALL!". I lived and worked (at the WAPD Division up on the hill) in Forest Hills on Ardmore Boulevard during my first two years. When I first arrived I rented a room over in Edgewood Borough overlooking the Penn-Lincoln Parkway. I now live out here in "affluent suburbia" in Murrysville (we moved here after we were first married in 1968 and had both of our sons - - now 39 and 36, respectively - - while living here).
Yes, I think that at least "for openers", the good folks at the Springfield Armory National Historic Site might be the best place to start. That gentleman up in Hope Valley, Rhode Island (and you think WILKINSBURG is small?) is named Frank Monikowski, but they don't give addresses, phone numbers, or E-Mail addresses (at least that I could see).
Well, best of luck, and "IF Y'INZ EVER GIT INTO DAHN-TAHN SPRINGFIELD SAY HELLO TO EVERYONE Y'INZ SEE FROM PICKS-BURGH AN' ASKUM HOW THE 'STILLERS' ARE DUNE...AN' 'AT!").
