What is the best solution to clean an antique rifle and still preserve the patina? I have an M1873 Springfield Trapdoor that, upon dis-assembly, has considerable black powder on several parts. What is best used on the wooden stock, as well? Does refinishing the wooden stock impact the value of the rifle?
