my old rifle

OK, that went through after I removed the serial number from the Subject. OK, the rifle had an early 1873 lock, early thumb latch, early hammer, early 1873 rear sight but I can't remember if the screws were slotted or not. It had a one piece front sight, early cleaning rod with the knurled tip, Except for the stock it appeared all early 1873. However, the rifle had a 5 grooved barrel. Barney Davies, an old antique gun collector I've known for 36 years sold it to me. He bought it along with several others at a Govt. auction in New York somewhere many years ago. That is wherre he also buoght a trapdoor that'd been parkerized and another that'd been tinned as if it'd been for the Navy he told me. Fred
