Production date (for the receiver)is July-Sept. 1886. This does not agree with the cartouche date. The serial number would indicate that the rifle should have been manufactured in 1886. Look very closely at the first digit to be sure it is a (3). Rifles made in 1891 would be in the 5000,000 range.

The stampings on the stock are nor SA. These are unit or rack numbers.

Stampings on the barrel are Armory proof marks.
