Gentlemen

Ser # 559918 bayonet inside to inside of lands 1.625" outside to outside lands 2.1875" butt plate with slide opener to 2 holes . One os approx 3" deep Rear site on barrel adjustable for distance and windage Right side plate has date 1873

Known history Minnesota State Guard used it while patrolling US/Canadian border during WW I (presumable looking for escaping German prisoners. I understand German prisoners were used for construction projects (including the golf course in Banff, Alberta reportedly laid out in meters)

Can you advise what date in which it was manufactured? Any other history would be appreciated.
