Then you have a full-length rifle, and the barrel is actually 32-5/8" (measurement is taken inside, from face of breechblock to muzzle).

It should then have a sliding combination cleaning rod/bayonet. Does it?

If not, it has been assembled from parts, since, after right around 500000, ONLY Cadet rifles (3" less than full-size) and Rod-bayonet rifles were produced by SA. The 557xxx range is getting close to end of production, which topped out at around 568xxx, the very last arms made being Cadets.

As you did not mention the sliding bayonet, I assumed it was a Cadet rifle.
