Re: 1889 Springfield

Posted by Tim on Monday, 12 October 2009, at 3:02 p.m., in response to 1889 Springfield, posted by Tim on Sunday, 4 October 2009, at 5:05 p.m.

The more I look into this gun the more confused I get. A few questions:

My gun is an 1873 model, but the stock and serial number seem are from 1889. Is that normal?

The main thing Iím really confused on is figuring out is what model gun this is. The barrel length (24Ē) seems to be carbine size, but the gun has a full stock. From what I can tell itís too short to be a cadet or a rifle. The gun does not look like it was cut down either. I can send pictures if that would help identify the gun.

Iím really confused and appreciate any help. Thanks, Tim
