The inside of the bore, for its full length, is covered in a light brown rust. No surprise, the gun is 136 years old. I'm assuming that this makes the bore effectively smaller, and that I should not fire until the bore is cleaned up. Do you all agree? If so, how do I remove this thin layer of rust?
