Re: Model 1881

I live in the east bay and work in the peninsula, so anywhere in this general area wouldn't be a hassle. I'm trying to figure out how authentic it is, and possibly sell it. I've done a little research on it at this site (and others) "trapdoorcollector.com/m81" and it looks like the breech, #3864, was changed at some time. I can't find "1881" on it. The fore stock and barrel look appropriate in length, but the trigger guard has a sling swivel point. It has "TC" and "L" stamped in the walnut stock with an oval stamp too, but I can't make out what's inside the oval and it has "US" is on the butt plate. The side plate has U.S.Springfield 1863 on it. I understand it difficult without seeing the weapon, but any guidance is appreciated. Thanks. Tom
