Re: 1873 Trapdoor Carbine

Thank you very much for the link. Your website is very informative and well laid out. After comparing your model 1877 with the one I have been looking at, I have noticed that the rear site is different. The one on the specimen I am looking at does not have the raised base on the muzzle side of the site. It is flat, but is marked "c" on top also on the muzzle side. Everything else would appear to be legit on the carbine. The three piece cleaning rod is present in the butt stock and the cartouche is faintly visible as well. I know it is near impossible to judge what it would be worth without visually inspecting it, but a close estimation would be much appreciated. If there is any other information that would help, please let me know and I will do my best to find it.

Thanks again!
