Tom

For insurance purposes you will need to contact a Licensed Gun Dealer in your area & ask for an appraisal. Forms are available for insurance coverage estimates of value. Ask your Insurer to provide this form. If they don't know what it is get another carrier.

If you have a Cabela's store near you they will provide this service at a fee.

If you want a general idea of the value just go to GunBroker.com & search the sold listings for your Model 88.

I have seem them running at this time anywhere from $895.00 to well over $4000.00. I personally would not pay over $3000.00 for the best specimen out there.

I have a Model 88 that is "unissued" that cost me well under $3000.00.

The last one I sold went for $1250.00. It was a very good specimen.

Hope this helps

Ernie
