Well, that's an 1840 then.

Flint or (WAY more likely) percussion?

It would have been smooth-bored originally, but quite a few were rifled at time of conversion to percussion, during the early years of the CW. I have an 1840, but it is by one of the contract makers (Pomeroy) rather than SA.
