With that serial number it is really a Model 1884, though some 1873 dated parts could POSSIBLY have still been used. Take another look at the stock. NO arms were ever stamped "1876", as dated cartouches did not start until 1877. That number should have "SWP 1890".

As to "modified", I cannot say - any deviation from standard hurts value, and people are picky these days. Look at the classified ads on this site (link below) for similar guns in similar condition. Also go to Gunbroker.com and see what is being offered and how it is presented.

If you post plenty of pics, a description is almost unnecessary. For myself, I don't even read the seller's notes until I have looked at the pictures. Most of the sales pitches are either mis-informed or just plain BS (some to the point of being ridiculous)
