Dick and Amy:

I just found your comments and hope I can weight in. I had the good luck of writing back and forth with Carl for several years. On 36451 we exchanged a number of comments on it, primarily because I had the gun offered to me back in the early 1980's by David Condon. At that time he wanted $3400.00 for it. Unfortnately for me, I already had two other first models and a number of other deals going on and was short at the time, so passed. Carl then got lucky and was able to buy it. Carl sent me a nice booklet that he had put together on the gun and we traded serial numbers for years. I am aware of the marks on the gun, both from Condon and pictures that Carl sent.

I have collected Custer material for some 50 years and first model guns since I have a fascination for serial numbers. My main interest these days lies in Patton sabers and their numbers. Pony Soldier
