My grandfather was Ray Kraus, but based on your response I will definitely need to see if I can get in touch with the Schoeppls; especially if the Schoeppls are from Minnesota. Ray purchased the gun from a man in Wisconsin, who had purchased the gun from a man in Minnesota around 1982-1983 (which would be in line with your correspondence with Carl). I understand the possibility of guns with close serial numbers being able to be sent to different ends of the country (but it sure is fun to think 'it's just SO close'). Do you happen to know of any contact information or website for the forensic testing done? Thank you so much for your input, Dick-my grandfather passed away last year without knowing for certain any history on 36451.
