Thanks for the info on the "thick swivel bar. I talked to Kieth Rush last week and he did not have any history of this carbine, but he did say that the barrel index marks do not prove any virginity, as they can often be re-aligned. And I did mean LBH, the barrel and stock will be going on the documented serial number 17425 that was turned in by Capt.Jackson of the 7th Cavalry as unseviceable in the 2th quarter of 1877. Monty, whos grandfather had it as a rifle, will simple be returning that carbine number back to its original configuration with correct grade parts. Do you have any record of any of the other trapdoors on that list that have surfaced besides #38853 and #12221?
